We held a HL BaSE Catalyst workshop in our Berlin office, bringing together in-house counsel and Hogan Lovells volunteers to advise 3 incredible social enterprises on various legal challenges.
We had the pleasure of advising:
-
Ocean Material connects brands, recyclers, and innovators to create sustainable materials that reduce ocean pollution, cut carbon emissions, and drive lasting value for people and the planet.
-
innn.it has developed a platform that allows people working towards positive social change to campaign. The platform supports petitions transform into legally-binding, direct-democractic initiatives.
-
wirfürschule works to combine the innovative power of society and empower people to develop solutions for the current challenges in the school education system.
We were also thrilled to host a Social Impact Sundowner following the workshop, which included some of the social enterprises in attendance as well as other organisations connected to Unternehmerstiftung für Chancengerechtigkeit (USC). USC is a non-profit entrepreneurial foundation based in Berlin which mobilises capital and entrepreneurial know-how to promote systemic solutions for equal opportunities for children and young people in Germany. USC strategically invests in established social enterprises in the areas of education, participation, and health, working closely with public partners and a cross-sectoral network. HL BaSE alum Mareike van Oosting is the managing director.
