We held a HL BaSE Catalyst workshop in Rome in collaboration with Ashoka Italy, bringing together in-house counsel and Hogan Lovells volunteers to advise social enterprises on various legal challenges, including compliance with GDPR, exploring labour laws, and negotiating public property use.
We were delighted joined by volunteers from our corporate clients, who worked alongside Hogan Lovells volunteers to advise 3 inspiring organisations, including:
- Tetrabondi is a social enterprise focused on promoting inclusivity and accessibility for individuals with disabilities. It aims to empower people with disabilities by providing them with opportunities for personal and professional growth. Tetrabondi often engages in projects that enhance mobility, accessibility, and social integration, striving to create a more inclusive society.
- Agevolando is a nonprofit organization that supports young people transitioning out of foster care or residential communities. Through mentoring, advocacy, and skill-building programs, it helps care leavers build independent, empowered lives and works to influence public policy on youth welfare and inclusion.
- AddiopizzoTravel is a responsible tourism initiative in Sicily that supports businesses refusing to pay the Mafia protection money (known as “pizzo”). By organizing tours that highlight Sicily’s cultural richness and anti-mafia civil resistance, the social enterprise raises awareness and promotes ethical consumption that directly supports a mafia-free economy.
