We held our third and final London HL BaSE Catalyst workshop of the year, in partnership with Bright Tide, hosting 10 of the ventures on its AgriBlue. AI accelerator programme. The accelerator focuses on supporting regenerative agriculture ventures, both on land and at sea, to scale and secure funding.

"As an early-stage startup, we gained invaluable guidance from Hogan Lovells on structuring partnerships and preparing for fundraising. Their pro-bono support through the Bright Tide program has helped Moshun.Earth move forward with confidence in our mission to restore ocean health from the boardroom to the depths."

Karine Toumazeau, Founder & CEO, Moshun.Earth

We covered universal legal issues including IP strategy and brand protection, project finance, corporate structuring, data protection, key legal considerations when designing and implementing environmental credit, and so much more.

We were joined by in-house counsel from our corporate clients, including PayPal, Jazz Pharmaceuticals, Citi, BNP Paribas, and Vodafone, who worked alongside Hogan Lovells volunteers to support 10 incredible ventures, including:

  • Anitomical has developed a scientific platform offering on-demand learning with interactive 3D animal anatomy models.
  • Big Akwa is a Swedish food-tech company developing circular aquaculture projects through industrial symbiosis, producing locally sourced, fairly priced and sustainable fish.
  • Native Aqua is a regenerative aquaculture company restoring marine ecosystems via native oyster revival and environmental credits
  • Ponterra is a tech-enabled reforestation developer delivering high-quality tropical forest carbon removals at scale.
  • Pepea Capital is a fintech firm based in Nairobi financing climate-smart agriculture for African smallholder farmers, with a focus on women. Through its proprietary analytics platform, Jasmine, the firm delivers innovative revenue-based financing and green finance solutions that strengthen resilience, enhance financial inclusion, and reimagine Africa’s food systems.
  • Moshun.Earth is an AI-powered platform for ocean ecosystem regeneration, enabling traceable, scalable corporate action.
  • Re-Genus produces natural fertilisers from fungi and circular raw materials to replace polluting synthetics.
  • SeaGrown harnesses offshore seaweed farming on the Yorkshire coast to enhance marine biodiversity, restore ocean health, and create sustainable products.
  • Sea & Believe is an Irish venture which works to cultivate dulse, a native Irish red seaweed, for sustainable aquaculture and nutrition.
  • Soil Acoustics provides ecoacoustic soil health monitoring using its ‘Soil Acoustics Meter’ a hand-held unit used to measure the noises made by invertebrates in the soil.

"At Pepea Capital, we believe that building resilient food systems starts with empowering smallholder farmers especially women with the right financial tools. The BaSE workshop provided an excellent platform to exchange ideas and foster collaborations that can accelerate climate-smart agriculture across Africa.”
