Our Madrid office held its second HL BaSE Catalyst pro bono workshop. Our Spanish lawyers were joined by lawyers from Ford, BNP Paribas, Vestas Iberica and Dell to address issues such as compliance policies, IP concerns for freemium licenses and product liability.

14 Hogan Lovells lawyers and 8 in-house lawyers participated in the event, in which we gave advice to the following social enterprises:

Papiroff is a collaborative editorial enterprise with "Freemium" digital content, specialising in educational courses. It offers learning modules at a educed cost in order to increase education opportunities. Papiroff's materials are used by schools and by parents who want to support their children's education. 

Amadix has developed an easy and innovative blood test to detect colorectal cancer.

KIO AI has developed an artificial intelligence-based program and a robot to help identify and tackle bullying in schools. It allows teachers to identify potential cases of abuse and offers solutions to better solve the problem.

Auara sells mineral water to catering providers and restaurants, and uses 100% of profits to build water and sanitation projects in developing countries. All Auara bottles have a QR code with information on the projects in where the price of the bottle will be invested.
