Our latest publication in our Earth Fixers series, produced in partnership with Pioneers Post, features the startups who are using artificial intelligence to save the planet.

[It's vital for tech startups to be adaptable and responsive to change.] "This is often the key difference between a business with a short lifespan and one that grows and thrives.”

Louise Crawford, Partner, Hogan Lovells

From Synature AG who have developed a 'smart microphone' and uses artificial intelligence to monitor biodiversity in certain areas, to ecodetect who provide underwater wildlife detection systems to marine renewable energy operators, more and more entrepreneurs are deploying artificial intelligence to tackle environmental challenges. But, with much uncertainty around regulation and investor appetite – and serious concerns about AI’s potential negative effects – these innovators are navigating unknown waters.

We provided pro bono legal advice to these ventures at a recent Catalyst workshop as part of our partnership with Bright Tide and its accelerator programme, Sustain.AI, which focuses on connecting innovative AI startups, industry leaders, and investors to drive sustainable change.

Check out the full feature here to uncover how these innovators are using AI to protect life on earth, and the big risks we need to navigate to help them along the way.
