Climate Bonds Initiative is an international organisation working solely to mobilise the largest capital market of all, the $100 trillion bond market, for climate change solutions. We promote investment in projects and assets necessary for a rapid transition to a low carbon and climate resilient economy.

Our strategy is to develop a large and liquid Green and Climate Bonds Market that will help drive down the cost of capital for climate projects in developed and emerging markets; to grow aggregation mechanisms for fragmented sectors; and to support governments seeking to tap debt capital markets.

Toward this goal, CBI's operations rest on three main pillars:

• Market intelligence which includes reporting on green bond market evolution and demonstrating green infrastructure pipelines to governments and investors
• Developing a trusted standard - including the Climate Bonds Standard and Certification Scheme which is a Fair Trade-like labeling scheme for debt instruments. Our certification currently covers 18% of the global green bond market
• Providing policy models and advice on the development of green bond and sustainable finance market to policymakers, market regulators and international organization.
