Action for the River Kennet - Richard Clarke

Action for the River Kennet (ARK) is one of the UK’s Rivers Trusts dedicated to safeguarding the Rivers Kennet and Pang, both rare and ecologically important chalk streams in southern England. ARK combines practical action, strong community relationships, and shared knowledge to protect these rivers from pressures such as pollution, habitat loss, and over-abstraction.

ARK is a registered charity who take hands-on practical action to restore rivers, enhance wildlife habitats, monitor river health, and promote sustainable water use across the catchments. ARK also works closely with volunteers, landowners, schools, and local organisations to build awareness and empower people to take care of their rivers. Through education, advocacy, and collaborative projects, ARK aims to ensure the Kennet and Pang remain thriving, resilient ecosystems for future generations.
