34 lawyers across the Asia-Pacific region, including China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Vietnam and Singapore, came together this weekend in Beijing to attend our HL BaSE APAC 2026 Training programme.

This is a mini-MBA style course for trainee and junior lawyers, delivered in conjunction with Social Innovation Circle, focused on developing their commercial skills and social impact.

We were delighted to be joined by keynote speaker Li Yan, who leads the Wider Pro Bono Center in China to share her experiences and learnings in the social impact space.

This year’s cohort comprised delegates and mentors from across the APAC region who met in our Beijing office to advise 7 incredible organisations in the region, including:

  • 2060 Advisory Impact Investment Consulting an impact investing advisory firm connecting purpose-driven entrepreneurs with aligned capital through fundraising and strategic advisory, with a focus on sustainable investments and SDG-aligned ventures.
  • Wider Pro Bono Center a pro bono platform mobilising legal volunteers to support vulnerable groups, with a current focus on child protection advocacy.
  • CantoGather Education an education non-profit providing Cantonese language support, intercultural programmes and parent engagement to promote inclusion for ethnically diverse students.
  • Eden Hong Kong an NGO dedicated to supporting and empowering survivors of human trafficking and sexual exploitation through recovery and reintegration services.
  • Global Mangrove Trust a non-profit advancing community-led mangrove conservation by linking climate finance with locally driven, equitable environmental restoration efforts.
  • Total Wellness Initiative Singapore a social enterprise delivering preventive, evidence-based mental health and wellness programmes to build resilience across schools, workplaces and communities.
  • Waiser a social enterprise using innovative finance models (Pay It Forward/PIF) to expand access to education by connecting underserved students with funding opportunities.

Thank you to our delegates, mentors, and Mark Cheng of Social Innovation Circle for such an insightful and engaging few days. Also a huge thank you to our incredible line-up of Social Enterprise clients who we’re looking forward to partnering with over the coming months.
